The importance of multilingualism in the Information Society is growing constantly. There is an ever-increasing demand to create, receive and exchange information in different languages, and Language Technologies have an important role to play in the development of the tools that will be used to meet that demand.

Likewise, research and development are crucial for improving innovation and quality in a company’s services. The Elhuyar Foundation has made a firm commitment in this area and in language technology research and development, because it is strategic for translating, lexicography and continually improving language services in general.

Investment made in research and development has enabled us to develop many resources and tools; this, in turn, has afforded us the possibility of updating and improving our services.
